I’ve been reading The Science of Getting Rich and came across this interesting quote. I bring it up because people in career transition are often asking me "How do I know if this is right decision?" For example, they’ll ask: "What if I get fired for speaking my mind?" or "What if I change jobs and in a year the industry I’ve chosen goes in the tank?" What happens is they get so caught up in what might happen in the future – they become paralyzed today. And that doesn’t help. Here’s the quote:
"And do not spend time in the present taking thought as to the best course in possible future emergencies; have faith in your ability to meet any emergency when it arrives."
So trust yourself. Know that if something does happen, you’ll be able handle it and figure it out. You can’t make decisions based on what could happen in the future. You don’t know what’s going to happen. So make your choices based on the information you have today. That’s the best you can do.
Have a great week!
