I was recently featured in an article in the Daily News about the many hats you need to wear in your job search.
Here’s an excerpt:
Since the start of the recession at the end of 2007, some 7 million people have lost their jobs. And although the economic slowdown appears to be easing, it’s still quite rough out there.
There is big demand for a limited number of jobs. Competition is stiff, and if you have your blinders on — if you limit yourself to pursuing only a certain kind of position in a specific field — you’re going to have a tougher time.
The people rising to the top of the résumé pile are those who take risks, are open-minded to different opportunities and use a layoff as an opportunity to do some soul-searching, experts say.
I’d love to hear your comments!
